Frequently asked questions

Browse our frequently asked questions for clear answers on the planning process, services, destinations, and what to expect when working with us. This section is designed to help you feel informed, reassured, and confident as you explore how your wedding can come to life with thoughtful guidance and expert support.

01 Why hiring a wedding planner?

Hiring a wedding planner means every vendor, contract, timeline, and logistical detail is managed on your behalf. At Daria Events & Weddings, our 6 years of established vendor relationships mean higher negotiating and bargaining power than couples booking independently. Your family and friends remain guests, not coordinators, and you arrive at your own wedding fully present, not managing a schedule.

02 How much should we budget for a destination wedding in Switzerland, France or Northern Italy?

For a professionally planned destination wedding in Switzerland, France or Northern Italy, we recommend to budget approximately 1,200–1,600 EUR/CHF per guest for a one-day celebration and 1,600–2,000 EUR/CHF per guest for a multiple day wedding.

These estimates generally include venue rental, catering, beverages, staffing, standard production elements, and core vendor services. Final budgets depend on the location, guest count, venue type, design complexity, and level of customisation.

We guide each couple in building a realistic and transparent budget framework based on their priorities and chosen destination.

03 How early should I start to plan my event?

A minimum 9–12 months planning lead time, with Alpine venues in peak season often requiring 14–18 months advance booking.

The earlier the better, as we have a higher chance to book the venue and other vendors that YOU want, but not from what/who is available. Our record was full wedding planning in 1 month!

04 What is the difference between a venue coordinator and a wedding planner?

A venue coordinator represents the venue and will always have the venue's interest as a priority. They rarely step outside of their comfort zone for your celebration and usually do not plan anything that is happening physically outside of their venue. While a wedding planner works exclusively for the couple with their interest at heart and manages the entire event and everything related to it digitally and physically.

05 Why do I need a wedding planner for a destination wedding?

Most couples planning from abroad benefit from local coordination, vendor management, and logistical expertise to avoid costly mistakes. The time difference, language barrier, and cultural differences is why our multilingual team with experience of living in those countries is happy to step up for you.

06 Can we meet you first?

Absolutely, we insist on a first free of charge meeting with you, but it is important you have already 4 main points figured out at least approximately:
1) Country/region/venue type
2) Date/Season
3) Number of people
4) Approximate budget fork

Once we have this information from you we are happy to meet you either physically or through video call. That helps us to know a bit more about each other, share our vision and values, expectations and promises. Before engaging in our partnership we try to create the approximate budget in order to see if we are on the same page about your celebration and its possible scenario.

07 Which languages can you communicate in?

We can communicate with clients in English, French, German, Italian, Russian, Ukrainian, and Chinese. This helps us support international couples more smoothly throughout the wedding planning process.

08 Can we choose our own wedding vendors?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own vendors. We are happy to work with them, as long as we can be involved in the communication and planning process to ensure their quality, professionalism, and fit with the overall event. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards throughout your wedding. If needed, we can also recommend our in-house decoration and floral services, as well as trusted vendors from our curated network, based on your style, needs, and budget.

09 Do you accept credit card payments?

We do not accept credit cards. For international couples, we can arrange alternative payment options designed to reduce multiple bank transfer fees. With a separate agreement, we can also manage payments to local vendors on your behalf, helping simplify the process and minimise extra banking costs.

10 How do you manage contracts, budgets, and wedding planning documents?

For couples who choose our Full Planning Package, we oversee all contractual and organisational aspects of the planning process. We create a shared folder, such as Google Drive, where we keep key wedding documents in one place, including the overall budget, decoration budget, guest list, seating plan, signed vendor contracts, task lists, and planning deadlines.
